Inlays & Onlays
There’s no need for silver or gold in your mouth…today’s restorative options include natural-looking, durable dental materials.
For small areas of decay, we place composite (white) fillings, and for larger fillings, we use inlays and onlays. These are tooth-colored fillings, made in a dental laboratory from composite or porcelain.
Inlays and onlays can be used to replace silver amalgam fillings that have become cracked or broken. They also can be used to fill large cavities.
If your tooth structure is badly broken down or weak, we’ll recommend a full-coverage, porcelain crown, but in many cases, inlays and onlays offer the best restorative solution.
